MediaTek, Chinese manufacturers gadget chip maker, earlier this week introduced its newest upscale processor named Helio X30.

Like the two previous chip, Helio X20 and X25, X30 Helio strengthened 10 core CPU with tri-cluster architecture and made with 10nm FinFET fabrication process. That four out of ten in Helio X30 CPU core is a core Cortex A-73 2.8 GHz to handle heavy-duty.

Light duties are handled by two core Cortex A-35 speed of 2 GHz. The rest are the four core Cortex A-53 2.2 GHz.

Graphics processor embedded in PowerVR 7XT Helio X30 is four-core GPU. Chip graphics performance is optimized to process a variety of VR applications in mobile gadgets.

In addition there is also support for POP LPDDR4 RAM up to 8 GB of 1600 MHz, LTE models Cat. 12 with three carrier aggregation, as well as photos and video resolution support each up to 40 megapixels and 24 megapixels.

Helio X30 is capable of recording video with a frame rate of 60 FPS with a 16 megapixel camera, while the 8-megapixel camera can record up to 120 FPS frame rate.

As a high-end chip, Helio X30 predicted would be the brains upscale smartphones. But consumers still have to wait another year before the first product to carry this chip on the market.

Smartphone with Helio X30 chip not expected to go on sale in the second half of 2017.
